We live in a society that has become plagued by debt. In this day and time consumer debt has become quite ordinary. For example, in the summer of 2012, a study by Accounting Principals finds that 68% of recent college grads are carrying an average of $27,000 in student loan debt and $12,742 in credit card debt. This comes to a total average debt of nearly $40,000. To make matters worse, the study also states that 83% said they cannot afford a car, groceries, rent, or a cell phone. Somehow, this heartbreaking scenario has become so common that it is widely accepted.
